Leading New York Ophthalmologist Launches New Smart Phone Application
Richard G. Davis, MD, a Long Island, New York Board Certified ophthalmologist has developed a new app called iRead for smart phone users to magnify and read small text.
Developed by practicing Ophthalmologist and founder of Precision Eye Care in Long Island, New York, iRead will allow you to read for a short period of time with your phone when you are in a situation where you don’t have your reading glasses. Ever been in a restaurant and needed more light and a pair of readers? Look no further as the iRead app is your answer! Most likely, even if you’ve forgotten your reading glasses, you have your phone! If your phone supports the zoom function and has a built in light and camera, iRead will allow you to read that menu!
Dr. Davis says,” We originally developed the app for our patients here at Precision Eye Care. Our patients were raving about it and telling us that all of their friends wanted it so we developed it for both iPhone and Android platforms and are now offering it for FREE to everyone for a limited time.”
This amazingly simple app uses the device display to allow users to magnify and read small text and also has a light option which allows the phone to focus better!
“This is certainly one app I don’t want to be without”, says a patient of Dr. Davis, “I was at a restaurant last week and forgot my reading glasses. I just took out my phone and was able to read the menu effortlessly!”
The app is designed for any Android phone with a light and camera function and the iPhone 4 or later versions. The iRead app is also compatible with the iPod Touch and iPad.
Precision Eye Care in Huntington, NY was the first eye care practice on Long Island to implement electronic medical records (EMR) that Dr. Davis created himself! He continually seeks new and proven diagnostic technology to offer his patients. Dr. Davis has performed over 20,000 eye surgeries and is considered one of the elite eye surgeons in the New York Metropolitan area.
